TecLogTalks: 5 Questions to Julia Theis, Administrative Employee
Hello Julia Theis, what does your daily work with us look like?
In my role as a part-time employee, I typically start my workday later than most of my colleagues. I begin by addressing my daily tasks, always starting with checking my emails. On certain days, this is followed by a regular team meeting where we discuss current tasks, relevant updates, and any existing issues.
My daily responsibilities include managing the vehicle fleet, checking for potential damages, and ensuring overall vehicle maintenance. Additionally, I am in charge of preparing cost approvals for the hotels used by our technicians and regularly assist them in finding suitable accommodations.
Those are already a few of the tasks. Which challenges keep you engaged beyond a normal working day?
In addition to the tasks mentioned above, my typical workday also involves organizing replacement vehicles for those nearing the end of their leasing contracts. Furthermore, I handle responsibilities in the area of IT, such as setting up mobile phones and laptops for new colleagues. Regular procurement of replacements also falls under my remit, as does managing general office supply orders.
How do you recharge your own batteries to overcome all these challenges? How do you start the day?
To tackle these challenges and recharge my energy, I start my day with my children. We get ready for the day together and enjoy a small breakfast before I take them to kindergarten. This morning routine provides me with the calm and energy I need to begin my workday on a positive note.
What is the biggest challenge you have overcome? What strategies did you use to get there?
I am particularly proud of successfully balancing my family life with my professional commitments. I view this challenge as one of the greatest and most fulfilling tasks in my life.
Finally, do you have a personal tip for us to stay motivated?
My personal tip for creating a motivated work environment is to enjoy your work. Add to that a great team with whom you can effortlessly navigate the challenges of a busy workday, where teamwork and mutual support are highly valued.
